Installation of MiraCarbon

Installation method

  Carbon Fiber for water purification material MiraCarobn should be installed to sway effectively in water. Installation methods are hanging, float, frame, bottom-laying, float + bottom-laying depending on site conditions and purpose of use.

1. Hanging method
  In this installation method, CarbonFiber water purification material is hung from water surface. To hang from water surface, floats are attached to one side of the material. Moreover, weights are attached to the other side in order to make the material sway in the water. The advantage of this method is easy to install.

1 ) Hanging with rope method
 This is the most basic method which CarbonFiber water purification material is hung with a rope from water surface. Weights and CarbonFiber water purification material are attached to the rope, and the ends and middle of the rope is fixed with supporting materials. If the width of water area is narrow, support stakes are set up in both sides of banks. In wide width area, extra support stakes or floats are used to prevent the material from sinking.
 When the depth of water in the installation site is shallower than the length of the material ( 70 cm in general ), U type attaching set should be used. I type attaching set is used in area deeper than 70 cm. CarbonFiber is able to be connected vertically, so it can be applied in deeper area.

Stake installation Float installation

Fix both ends of rope by stake. If the width of water area is narrow, support stakes are set up in both sides of banks. If there is water flow the place or stakes are not be able to be installed, stakes are set up to the direction of flow and ropes are fixed. Extra support stakes are used to prevent the material from sinking according to the length of rope. Attach floats to rope at intervals of 1 m. This installation method is suitable for wide water area, water lever is changed greatly, and stakes are not be able to fixed. If it is likely to be flowed by water flow or wind, attach weight at the bottom or moor from the coast.


2 ) Rope floating unit

 Since it purifies a large amount of water in large water area effectively, large scale of installation is possible by setting up Hanging with rope unit.

3 ) Hanging with raft method
 In this method, CarbonFiber water purification material is hung with rafts. Rafts are made by wood or PVC, which have sufficient strength and weather resistance. Float can also be attached if it is needed. Weight of sludge and vegetation attached to CarbonFiber water purification material should be considered for obtaining enough buoyancy. CarbonFiber is able to be connected vertically, so it can also suit even in deep area.

4 ) Hanging with floating island method
 CarbonFiber water purification material is attached to the bottom of floating island. In addition to its effect on water purification, the floating island can contributes to landscape improvement by establishing green belt. Moreover, plants on the island absorbed contamination agents such as nitrogen and phosphorus, thus facilitating water purification. CarbonFiber water purification material, roots, and stems also becomes egg-laying sites for fish. Since CarbonFiber hides fish from their enemies, fish come around it.

2. Floating method
  CarbonFiber water purification material is fixed to bottom of the water by steel-frame or weights. To surface the material, floats are attached. In the bottom, heavy equipments, such as steel-frame, weights or anchor should be attached to prevent the material from move by water flow. If robust anchoring materials, such as cement, are applied in the bottom of water, anchor bolts should be used to fix the material. In float's buoyancy, weight of sludge and plants should be considered.
 In this method, CarbonFiber purifies water by swaying like seaweed and becomes hiding places for fish. Since it is not seen on the water, it doesn't impair scenery. Moreover, this method doesn't interfere with water flow. Although this method can be used in the place where is large water level fluctuation, floats might appear at shallow water level. CarbonFiber is able to be connected vertically, so it can also suit even in deep area.

3. Fixing method
 In this method, both ends of CarbonFiber water purification material are fixed by steel-frame in the water. By fixing both ends, the material can keep stable swaying without interference of water flow or attached substances. Motion range of its bottom end should be adjusted to produce large swaying of CarbonFiber. If there is a possibility that the unit is moved by water flow, anchor or weights should be used. When strong anchoring materials, such as cement, are applied in the bottom of water, anchor bolts should be used to fix the material.
 If the depth is too deep, CarbonFiber should be connected vertically. When the material applies to the place where is large water level fluctuation, it is necessary to prevent CarbonFiber from appearing from water surface. In case of stable water level, this method doesn't impair scenery. Moreover, since surface flow is not affected by this method, it is expected stable water purification. Hence, this method is suitable for water purification facilities.

4. Bottom-laying method
  In this method, the textile CarbonFiber water purification material is used for bottom sediment decomposition. The material is fixed by steel-frames, piles, or weights to prevent the materials from being flowed. Bottom of the water is generally lack of oxygen, so it is preferable to use it in combination with floating method or fixing method.

5. Floating and bottom-laying method
 The textile CarbonFiber water purification material is attached to the bottom of floating unit. Water purification is conducted by the tassel CarbonFiber water purification material, while the textile CarbonFiber attached to the bottom is for bottom sediment decomposition.

6. Fixing and bottom-laying method
 The textile CarbonFiber water purification material is attached to the bottom of fixing unit. Water purification is conducted by the tassel CarbonFiber water purification material, while the textile CarbonFiber attached to the bottom is for decomposition of bottom sediment.
